We tasted coffee from Guatemala

At Eska, guests tasted two specialty competition coffees from the Guatemalan farm Finca Gascón, which we visited in March. Behind the bar, they also met some of the main participants from the trip: the farmer Felipe Contreras, Ambiente’s head barista Ondra Štökl, Eska’s barista Eliška Syrovátková, and Jakub Smolka from the Nordbeans roastery. Jakub used these very coffees during his winning performance at the 2025 Barista of the Year competition.

We tried:

  • Espresso: Hybrid Washed Geisha (flavor notes: prickly pear – lime – pineapple – vanilla – jasmine)
  • Cappuccino: Kombucha Natural Pacamara (flavor notes: banana – milk chocolate – sour cherry – cognac)

The coffees were on the grinder for this day and time only – a unique opportunity to taste them, meet the farm owner Felipe, and learn more about the entire production process.
