At the last Night of Open Bottles, we tasted Torch from Pinta Barrel Brewing — an apple barley wine with Ceylon cinnamon and Madagascar vanilla, aged for 40 months in Calvados barrels. The brewery specializes in barrel-aged and wild ales, isn’t afraid of experimentation, and believes that good things take time.
